A Tale of Two Birthdays
September means more than fall--it means Mexican Independence Day, which means MY BIRTHDAY! Viva Mexico and Viva Delia!
I got two birthdays this year. The time difference between the two coasts allowed me to celebrate in California and in West Virginia.
Here are some highlights from my California birthday:
This year I can eat my cake with my fork, not my fingers.
Here's a tricycle that I charmed my Grandma Karen's neighbors out of. They are twin two year old boys and they could not resist my charms. The present my Aunt Cindy gave me came in a hat, Dad said. So I gave it a try.
Its not nearly as cute as this hat:In California, Grandma Karen and Grandpa Bruce took me to the zoo. Dad said that just taking me to their house was taking me to the zoo. Grandma Karen isn't speaking to him anymore.
We also went to a place called Fairy Tale Town with lots of places for kids to get hurt. Dad handed out a lot of his cards.
I also got to go on a pony ride in the foothills of the Sierra. They wouldn't let me take the pony home so I am not sure that they really love me.
We also went to a playground near where Grandma Karena and Grandpa Bruce live.
Here's that tricycle that I charmed from the neighbor boys again. Dad is afraid that I am going to end up some sort of motorcycle model.
Here are four generations of women in my family. With all four of them in one room, no one had any free will.
Now, to my birthday in West Virginia. Of course there was cake there too:
Grandma Karen sent me a slide of my very own for my birthday. I ran out to see it.
Mom and Dad got me a tricycle of my own so that I will stop using my wiles to get what I want from the neighbor boys.
All in all, it was pretty cool to turn two.
